The pair took to the halls again in search of the intruders. Their first clue being a painting on the wall of an unfamiliar monster revealed by the light of Oswald's candle.

Francis imagined cleaving this person's skull with a hatchet, and how proud of this mother would be. The purple haired vampire was also frustrated to have Oswald so close at hand, while needing to cooperate instead of swing down a weapon. Killing the homeless people might be cathartic. Francis was familiar with killing.

The hubris though, to hang a painting of yourself in a house you are intruding, was notable. Maybe this person, or people, genuinely thought the mansion to be abandoned.

The two vampire children had certainly failed to account for some kind of security risk in such a huge house.

They continued around the corner where music could be heard...
