Francis imagined cleaving their skull with a hatchet, and how proud of this mother would be. The purple haired vampire was also frustrated to have Oswald so close, but need to cooperate instead of swing a weapon. Killing the homeless people would be cathartic.

The hubris, to hang a painting of yourself in the house you are intruding, was shocking. Maybe this person, or people, genuinely thought the mansion to be abandoned.

The remaining two vampire children had certainly failed to account for some kind of security risk in such a huge house.
